Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) 80/20 ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
8 slices bacon
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 burger buns
1 tomato, sliced
4 lettuce leaves
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
Dill pickles, to taste
Ketchup, to taste
Yellow mustard, to taste
Mayonnaise, to taste
Instructions
1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crisp. Transfer it to a paper-towel-lined plate.
2.
3. Place the ground beef in a bowl. Add salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Mix gently until combined.
4.
5. Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and form patties about 3/4 inch thick. Press a shallow indentation into the center of each patty.
6.
7. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface or use a small amount of reserved bacon drippings.
8.
9. Cook the burger patties without pressing them. Flip and continue cooking until the centers reach 160°F (71°C).
10.
11. Place one slice of cheddar on each patty during the final minute. Cover briefly so the cheese melts.
12.
13. Transfer the cheeseburger patties to a clean plate and let them rest briefly.
14.
15. Place the cut sides of the burger buns on the warm grill or skillet and toast until lightly golden.
16.
17. Spread ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise on the buns as desired. Add lettuce, tomato, a cheeseburger patty, two slices of bacon, red onion, and dill pickles. Add the top bun and serve immediately.
