These Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins are soft, moist, fluffy, and packed with ripe bananas and rich chocolate chips. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup melted unsalted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup extra chocolate chips for topping
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin pan.
2. Mash bananas until mostly smooth.
3. Mix in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
4. Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon together.
5. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
6. Fold in chocolate chips.
7. Divide batter into muffin cups.
8. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips over the tops.
9. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden.
10. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter.
Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness.
Store at room temperature for 3 days.
Freeze for up to 3 months.
