Description
Easy homemade Chinese Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry with tender marinated beef, crisp broccoli, and a rich savory garlic ginger sauce. Ready in only 25 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 4 tbsp soy sauce, divided
- 3 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds
- Green onions
Instructions
1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
2. Marinate beef with soy sauce, cornstarch and sesame oil for 15 minutes.
3. Blanch broccoli for 2 minutes and drain.
4. Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, broth and brown sugar.
5. Heat oil in a wok over high heat.
6. Sear beef for 2 to 3 minutes and remove.
7. Cook garlic and ginger until fragrant.
8. Return beef and broccoli.
9. Pour in the sauce.
10. Add cornstarch slurry and stir until thickened.
11. Serve hot with rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- Slice beef while partially frozen for thinner slices.
- Do not overcook the beef.
- Cook over high heat.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
