Creamy Garlic Chicken Orzo is a comforting one-pan dinner featuring tender chicken, creamy parmesan garlic sauce, spinach, and perfectly cooked orzo.
Ingredients
2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced into bite-sized pieces
1 1/2 cups orzo pasta
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 small yellow onion, finely diced
2 cups fresh spinach
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Pat chicken dry and season with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet and cook chicken until golden and fully cooked.
3. Transfer chicken to a plate.
4. Melt butter in the same skillet and sauté onion until softened.
5. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 30 seconds.
6. Add orzo and toast for 1 to 2 minutes.
7. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
8. Cook uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
9. Stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese until smooth.
10. Add spinach and cook until wilted.
11. Return chicken to skillet and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
12. Finish with parsley and lemon juice.
13. Serve warm with extra parmesan if desired.
