Description
Tender homemade beef meatballs slowly cooked in a rich mushroom onion gravy for an easy Crockpot comfort food dinner.
Ingredients
- 1½ pounds ground beef
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated onion, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
2. Shape into 1½-inch meatballs.
3. Place sliced onions and mushrooms in the slow cooker.
4. Arrange meatballs on top.
5. Whisk broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, onion powder and garlic powder together.
6. Pour over meatballs.
7. Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
8. Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes.
9. Cook until gravy thickens.
10. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles with parsley.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat mixture.
- Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.
- Use 85/15 ground beef for the juiciest meatballs.
