Ingredients

- 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 large onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Brown sliced sausage for 5-7 minutes.
3. Add onion and bell peppers. Cook 3-4 minutes.
4. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
5. Stir in cabbage.
6. Season with paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
7. Pour in chicken broth.
8. Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes.
9. Stir occasionally until cabbage becomes tender.
10. Serve hot with cornbread or biscuits.
Notes
- Use turkey sausage for a lighter version.
- Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
