Description

A colorful Italian frozen dessert featuring layers of pistachio, cherry, and chocolate ice cream with crunchy nuts and cherries.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 quart pistachio ice cream
  • 1 quart cherry vanilla ice cream
  • 1 quart chocolate ice cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 2 tbsp cherry liqueur (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios

Instructions

1. Line a loaf pan with plastic wrap.

2. Soften pistachio ice cream and spread as first layer.

3. Freeze for 30 minutes.

4. Mix cherry ice cream with cherries, almonds, extract and liqueur.

5. Spread cherry layer and freeze 30 minutes.

6. Add chocolate ice cream layer.

7. Cover and freeze overnight.

8. Unmold, slice and serve.

Notes

  • Freeze each layer before adding the next. Use a hot knife for clean slices.
